Aspect No. 17 - El del Sol.

Gold was valued not as coinage, but as a luminous source of power. A symbol of eternity, as it never corroded or oxidized.

The conduit for the energy of the Sun.

El del Sol. is manifested by the following future relics -

  • El Saco del Sol - A soft tailored jacket with stiffened shoulders, featuring a radiance burst in a laser cut gold reflective film.

  • Los Pantalones Anchos - A wide leg draped high waisted trousers in honey viscose.

See below for a peak into the process.

The last Aspect from Los Celestiales, personifications of celestial and cosmic forces that govern and are omni-present within Perdida.

El Jaguar, who has the universe in its eyes, El Eternal who’s role is the cycle of life, and El del Sol, an avatar for the Sun. They are channeled through Los Divinos when summoned by worship when Los Plateados y Los Cobreados come together.

This Aspect was inspired by a collection of references from various points of interest and my life. Merged with ideologies and references to the beliefs and values that I found relations and connections with as I researched and learned more about the Musica. Primarily within their perspective on materiality and the process of creating. The source came from a Tunjo found in the MFA’s collection on display in Boston, MA and its resemblance to my blacken sun tattoo. In an effort to reinfoce the illuminating quality of the reflective film found on the jacket, the eyes of the nariguera have the same material treatment to create this sense of an other-worldly entity.

I wanted to use this Aspect to begin approaching not just the personification of the celestial and divine bodies, but to explore folding in materials that could complement the luster and reflection of the various metals already found within the world of A El Mismo.
